RIP Gary Gygax

An icon passed away this morning. Just about anyone who's picked up a 20-sider was influenced by him, even if they didn't know him by name. He was the creator and founder of Dungeons and Dragons, making him essentially the father of role playing games.

It was thanks to the vision of Ernest Gary Gygax that a whole generation of us off-the-mainstream kids found an outlet for our creativity growing up. He was 69 years old.

  1. Holy cow, is this Lance Stahlberg...the Lance who went to St. Andrews? If not, I apologize for wasting your time...but if it is...this is Bryan W. Alaspa..remember me??? If this IS you, dude, we need to talk. I write for a living too these days and, well, anyway.. I'd love to chat... Otherwise, I apologize for leaving such a lame-ass comment on your otherwise very cool blog.
